The Noe family was originally from the Province of Languedoc in the south of France. I believe they were descendants of the Marquis de Noé. Being Huguenots, they fled France during the persecution under Louis XIV and settled first in Alsace and then in Zweibrücken area (west of Saarbruecken) of Germany. This is where I have traced my ancestors to. Special thanks to Bruce Noe in France for all of his help.
